Review - Battlefront BA10 (SU301)

History:
The BA10 was an armoured car developed by the Soviet Union and produced until 1941. More than 3000 of these rolled out of factories in the Soviet Union in three different models.

Reportedly first used in the Second World War at Khalkhin Gol in 1939, the BA10 then took part in all operations up until 1941. From then it's usage then reduced from 1942 where it was replaced by newer light vehicles like the T60 and T70.

The BA10 weighed just over 5 tonnes, had a crew of 4 and could reach speeds of 55 kilometers per hour. The armoured car was equipped with a 45mm gun and 2 machine guns.

Review:
The blister contains a hull and turret, both in resin, the 45mm gun, 2 sets of 2 rear wheels, 2 front wheels and 2 spare wheels. Also included is the front bumper, commander and hatch.

Blister Contents.
There was nothing at all to do with the resin parts. All the wheels needed flash cleaning off however this was very minor and completed in a minute or so. Once these were fitted and glued, I glued the 45mm gun. The hatch was next and needed to be trimmed slightly to fit neatly. Finally the bumper was glued in place.

The model is an old fashioned resin and metal kit. However it was a pleasure to put together. The first one took me less than 10 minutes to assemble and fits together beautifully.

Usage:
Good thing that these go together well. I have 3 for my Romanians and 10 more for my Soviets.

Check back for a later blog post when I paint some of these up.
