Tournament Report - Days of Decision - 4/5 November - Game Cube

Days of Decision ran last weekend at the Games Cube in Parramatta, Sydney. The Cube is a well located store in the center of Parramatta with a healthy collection of FOW product, card games other miniatures, board games and hobby supplies. There website is here:

The format was 1650 points, Early War using the V4 rules including the new More Missions pack. Whilst support for V4 MW is steadily building in Australia, there is less enthusiasm for EW and LW. Still a small group of enthusiastic players converged for their flames fix.

Japanese Tanks preparing to roll out.
Due to a variety of different reasons, some players were not able to play all 5 rounds. With one player playing 2 games, another 3 games and a third player 4 rounds.

German defences

There was a good variety of forces represented including Japanese, Soviets, desert Brits and Romanians. There wasn't really a clear dominant army type or troop type. Instead tank and infantry forces of all types seemed to have reasonable performances.

10.5 cm Howitzer guard an objective.

With the changes to V4, there were a few proxies visible but this mostly consisted of correct models in inappropriate paint schemes (for example desert tanks on the eastern front).

Defences
Tables were supplied by Scott and David and as usual looked the business.

T26 gun line
Overall the games didn't seem to last any longer than they did in version 3. The rounds were limited to 2.25 hours but there were only a couple of time out draws.

At the wash up, there were 2 players tied on 3 wins. Scott won playing only 4 games by a small point (BF 8-1 scoring points) over Paul who played 3 games.
Mortars, um backwards..
Thanks to Scott for organizing and the Cube for providing a great venue.
